Drug charges follow late night vehicle stop, Port Mouton, N.S.

A late night vehicle stop by RCMP on Highway 103 in Port Mouton led to the arrest of two men. On Wednesday evening at approximately 11:30 p.m., members of the Shelburne County Street Crime Unit, Shelburne Detachment and Queens Detachment conducted a traffic check on a vehicle traveling westbound on Highway 103.

A late night vehicle stop by RCMP on Highway 103 in Port Mouton led to the arrest of two men.

On Wednesday evening at approximately 11:30 p.m., members of the Shelburne County Street Crime Unit, Shelburne Detachment and Queens Detachment conducted a traffic check on a vehicle traveling westbound on Highway 103.

As a result of the stop, a quantity of marijuana and cocaine destined for sale in the Shelburne area was seized by RCMP. Two men, ages 21 and 29, were arrested on scene without incident. A 2000 Chevrolet pick-up driven by the men was also seized under the Proceeds of Crime legislation.

The men from Shelburne County were later released. They are facing charges of Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of Marijuana for the Purpose of Trafficking. The investigation is continuing.
