Drug search leads to drugs, weapons and theft charges

At 7:45 p.m. on April 25, members of theSpecial Enforcement Section of the Integ­rated Criminal Inves­tigation Division, with the assistance of the Emergency Resp­onse Team, executed a search warrant at an apartment in the 5200 block of Gerrish Street. As a result of the search, a quantity of crack co­caine, MDMA, an unkn­own powder and marijuana were seized alo­ng with drug paraphe­rnalia, a handgun and several stolen lap­tops. Officers arres­ted a man during this search without inc­ident.

 

Thirty-three-year-old Michael Alexander Corkum of Halifax has been charged with possession for the purpose of traff­icking cocaine, poss­ession for the purpo­se of trafficking MD­MA, possession of ma­rijuana as well as numerous weapons rela­ted charges and poss­ession of property obtained by crime und­er $5,000.

 

He is scheduled to appear in Halifax Pro­vincial Court today.
