Drugs and cash seized from home after search

The Valley Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit has charged five people with drug offences after a search warrant was executed at a home in New Minas.

On January 9, 2024, the Valley Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit, with assistance from the Kings District RCMP General Investigation Section, Kings District RCMP, the Kentville Police Service General Investigation Section, the Kentville Police Service and the RCMP Police Dog Services, executed a search warrant at a home on Kings Cr.

At the home, police safely arrested three men then located and seized ecstasy, methamphetamine, scales, cash, and cellphones during the search of the property.

Later that night, a man and a woman were also arrested without incident during a targeted traffic stop where cocaine, brass knuckles, bear spray, scales, cash and cellphones were seized.

Mark Harris, 49, from New Minas, Vince Harris, 50, from New Minas and Douglas Drysdale, 49, from New Minas have all been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (two counts each) and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (one count each).

Robert Banks, 39, from Halifax and Rebecca Moir, 39, from New Minas have been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Carrying a Concealed Weapon (two counts each), Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon (three counts each), Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Possession of a Weapon Contrary to an Order.

Mark Harris and Rebecca Moir were held in custody and appeared in Kentville Provincial Court on January 10, 2024. They were subsequently released under conditions and will back in Court on March 26, 2024 at 9:30 a.m.

Vince Harris, Douglas Drysdale and Rebert Banks were all released under conditions and will be back in Kentville Provincial Court on March 26, 2024 at 9:30 a.m.
