Emergency crews searching for missing hikers, Point Tupper, N.S.

Port Hawkesbury RCMP are currently searching the Point Tupper area for two male hikers who went missing earlier today. At approximately 7:30 p.m., Port Hawkesbury RCMP received a report of two missing male hikers.

At approximately 7:30 p.m., Port Hawkesbury RCMP received a report of two missing male hikers.

The hikers had become disoriented and called police for assistance.

The RCMP has mobilized RCMP Police Dog Services, the Strait Area Ground Search and Rescue, Port Hastings Fire Department, Port Hawkesbury Fire Department, Cape Breton and Central Nova Scotia Railway (CBNS), and Department of Natural Resources.

The search is continuing and anyone with information about these men is asked to contact the Port Hawkesbury Detachment of the RCMP at (902) 625-2220.
