Employees at Metro Regional Housing Authority Vote to Strike

Members of the Nova Scotia Government & General Employees Union (NSGEU) Local 47, who work for the Metro Regional Housing Authority, have voted 86% in favour of strike action to back their demands at the bargaining table.
The Union and the Employer enter the conciliation process today, April 16th and April 17th.
“This strike vote is motivated by the need for the Employer to take these negotiations seriously,” says NSGEU President Jason MacLean. “Our members are not having their issues addressed through bargaining and the membership has just given us a strong mandate to address these in conciliation.”
