Extreme Cold Temperatures Impacting Water Service

From Halifax Water:

Due to the extremely cold temperatures, some Halifax Water customers are reporting the loss of water service due to internal plumbing issues.

It is recommended that customers ensure there is a safe heat source in the area where your water service lateral enters your home – usually in a basement or utility closet near your water meter.

The extreme weather and related water service issues have resulted in an increased volume of calls to our Customer Care Center.

If you do experience a loss of service, please visit www.halifaxwater.ca/notices, to get the most up-to-date water service advisories.

If you are not impacted by a known water service shutdown and have lost service, please contact our 24/7 emergency line at 902-420-9287 or direct message us on Twitter or Facebook @HalifaxWater.

To ensure the safety of our communities and our staff, please maintain a safe distance when Halifax Water staff or contractors are working in your area.

For more information on Halifax Water, please check www.halifaxwater.ca, visit us on YouTube, or Twitter @HalifaxWater, Facebook, or call our Customer Care Centre at 902-420-9287.
