Fatal Accident On Highway 102

February 2, 2014, Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) . . .Lower Sackville RCMP are currently on the scene of a fatal accident on Highway 102 outbound.
At 5:49 p.m.  RCMP responded to a collision on Highway 102, just south of Kelly Lake scales. A tractor trailer travelling outbound struck a 44-year-old man from Dartmouth who was on the highway at the time. The male was confirmed deceased at the scene by EHS.
The RCMP are speaking to witnesses in an effort to determine the events that led to the man being on the highway.
Traffic is still moving in the area; however the lanes have been reduced. As a result, traffic is moving slow and motorists can expect this to continue for several hours as RCMP conduct the investigation. 
The name of the deceased is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
