Fatal collision between car and tractor-trailer

Cumberland County District RCMP is investigating a fatal collision that occurred in Wentworth.

On March 21, at approximately 10:09 a.m., Cumberland County District RCMP, fire and EHS, responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on Hwy. 4 in Wentworth. Upon arrival at the scene, RCMP officers learned that a Pontiac Vibe and a tractor trailer were travelling in opposite directions when they collided.  

The driver and sole occupant of the Pontiac, a 38-year-old Tatamagouche man, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver and sole occupant of the tractor trailer, a 61-year-old Dartmouth man, suffered minor injuries.

A collision reconstructionist attended the scene. The investigation remains ongoing and is being assisted by the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service.
