Fatal collision with tractor-trailer

Kings District RCMP is investigating a fatal collision that occurred in Wolfville Ridge.

This morning, at approximately 10:25 a.m., Kings District RCMP, fire services, and EHS, responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Hwy. 101, near exit 11. RCMP officers learned that a tractor trailer and a GMC Sierra were travelling in opposite directions when they collided.

The driver and lone occupant of the GMC, a 77-year-old Delhaven man, suffered life threatening injuries. He was transported by EHS to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The driver and lone occupant of the tractor trailer, a 62-year-old man from Canaan in Kings County, did not suffer physical injuries.

A collision reconstructionist attended the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

Hwy. 101 was closed for several hours but has since reopened.

Our thoughts are with the victim’s family at this difficult time.
