Fire crews responded to 15 Avondale Rd in Cole Harbour after reports of a fire were called in by RCMP.

In the late afternoon of March 4th, several fire stations responded to the confirmed fire. Upon arrival, crews quickly set up command and ran lines to deal with the second floor fire of the single family dwelling. One neighbour said that thick black smoke was clearly visible from the home. They also said that RCMP were at the address prior to the fire situation but did not know why.

Fire Investigations determined the cause to be from fireworks ignited inside the home. One injury was reported from the fire. Investigators have determined that the fire originated from a bedroom. The cause of this fire is not classified.
