On the night of March 19th, fire crews were called to 5 Braeburn Rd in Halifax when thick smoke was spotted pouring out of the single family dwelling.

Fire crews from several stations responded, with HRP on scene for traffic and safety control and EHS on standby. There were no injuries from the fire, but a family pet was found deceased.

Fire Investigations determined the origin of the fire to be in the basement with the cause being electrical. It has been deemed accidental.
