Firearm Recovered/Public’s Assistance Sought

The investigation into Saturday night’s homicide is continuing and
police are asking for the public’s assistance.

October 27 2010:
As a result of the media release, the owners of the SUV have come forward and spoken to Investigators.

October 26 2010:
Twenty-seven-year-old Donald Chad Smith of Windsor Junction was shot
while making a pizza delivery to a building on Joseph Young Street in
Dartmouth. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. A firearm was
recovered Sunday night in a wooded area behind some apartment buildings
on Farthington Place, not far from the scene. At this time investigators
are attempting to determine if the firearm is connected with this
incident.

Investigators are also interested in locating a red, full size SUV with
chrome rims, similar to an Escalade. The vehicle was observed driving in
the area around the time of the incident and had loud music coming from
it.

Investigators with the HRP/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit are urging
anyone with information about the vehicle or the incident to contact
