Fires Update, Monday, Aug. 15, 10 a.m.

Following is a provincial fire update for Monday, Aug. 15, at 10 a.m.

— today’s weather is expected to be cloudy with a 40 per cent chance of showers or drizzle in the morning and a mix of sun and cloud in the afternoon
— the fire at Seven Mile Lake, Annapolis Co. is now 100 per cent contained
— fires at Ten Mile Lake, Queens Co., Perch Lake, Pictou Co., and Maitland Bridge, Annapolis Co., are fully contained. The Ten Mile Lake fire continues to be difficult, as it has not received as much rain. Crews continue to make slow progress
— Trunk 8 will continue to be closed until further notice
— despite rain in some parts of the province, travel restrictions and a burn ban remain in effect across Nova Scotia and people are asked to continue to avoid any activity that could potentially cause more fires
— more information can be found at http://novascotia.ca/nsfire/faq.asp

Updates will continue to be issued at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Additional updates will be issued if there are significant changes throughout the day.
