Fujitsu LIFEBOOK E744 recalled due to fire hazard

Common name: Fujitsu LIFEBOOK E744 notebook computer

Product description: This recall involves the Fujitsu LIFEBOOK notebook computer with red trim on the keyboard and cover. Model number E744 is affected by this recall. The model number can be found on the white sticker on the bottom of the notebook computer.

Hazard identified: As the notebook battery pack ages, it may cause a battery-related thermal event and potentially pose a burn and fire hazard.

Consumers should immediately stop using the affected notebook computer and download and install the Battery Charging Control Update Tool (BCCUT) from the Fujitsu Website or run Windows Update on the LIFEBOOK E744.
