Funding for Ski Ben Eoin

Funding for infrastructure improvements at Ski Ben Eoin in Ben Eoin, Cape Breton Regional Municipality, will help support participation in winter sport and recreation and tourism.

Ski Ben Eoin will receive $150,000 from the province and funding from other partners. The funding will be used to enhance snowmaking, ski lifts, facility heating and events at the ski hill.

“Cape Breton is a beautiful place that can be enjoyed all year long,” said Energy Minister Michel Samson, on behalf of Communities, Culture and Heritage Minister Tony Ince. “Ski Ben Eoin gives Nova Scotians and visitors to our province an opportunity to maintain a healthy lifestyle and have fun outdoors throughout the winter months.”

Ski Ben Eoin has invested $90,000 plus $35,000 in in-kind contributions.

“These funds will help us improve our facilities and ensure our guests have the best ski experience possible,” said Jim Gilbert, chief operating officer, Ski Ben Eoin. “Having government support for Ski Ben Eoin represents how integral this asset is to the community.”

Government is helping to build infrastructure for strong and vibrant communities. Supporting this project makes it easier for individuals and families to enjoy what their communities have to offer and provides opportunities for Nova Scotians to participate in healthy activities.
