Gas station employee threatened with gun

A robbery incident at a gas station and convenience store on Marsh Street in New Glasgow has led to the arrest of Jeffrey Ryan Cosh, a 39-year-old man. The crime occurred on December 10, around 8:30 p.m.

According to the New Glasgow Regional Police, an employee at the gas station was threatened by a man with a gun, demanding money. After obtaining cash, the suspect fled the scene on foot. The employee’s description of the assailant, corroborated by video surveillance, was instrumental in the subsequent police action.

A coordinated search, aided by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Dog Services, allowed officers to secure the area and locate the suspect. Cosh was apprehended at about 2:17 a.m., not far from the crime scene.

Charged with several offenses, including armed robbery and illegal possession of a firearm, Cosh has appeared in Provincial Court in Pictou and is currently held in custody. Meanwhile, the New Glasgow Regional Police are continuing their investigation to identify and locate a second person believed to be involved in the robbery.
