Getting My Joan On

Up until very recently, I have to admit I was pretty stumped as to what I was going as for Halloween.  I knew I wanted to dress as a fashion icon (shocking I know), but I just couldn’t figure it out.
I mean there are so many possibilities right ?!

I ran through the usual suspects, Audrey (already did – see that costume here), Twiggy (already dressed up as Edie Sedgwick a couple years ago, and so basically same costume) and Coco Chanel (too similar to my Audrey Hepburn costume) what was I going to do?
Then it dawned on me! JOAN RIVERS!!! How hilarious is this costume?

Featured Items: Blazer: Envy | Turtleneck: Gap | Faux Fur Stole: Roots | Wide Leg Trouser: Eclipse (eons old) | Sunnies: Joe Fresh | Boots: c/o Vince Camuto | Wig: Shoppers Drug Mart | Watch: Fossil | Sex Book: Chapters |
You’ll be surprised to know blog reader that this costume literally only cost me $1.50 yes you read that correctly. I’m not sure if I should be proud of this or not, but other than my little “Fashion Police” badge (which I constructed myself from a police costume set that was purchased at the Dollar Store, and yes I studded it) everything you see here – blonde wig included (see previous Edie Sedgwick costume) I actually already owned!
This weekend I am hosting a Halloween party for my dance friends, and I can’t wait to put on my blonde wig and adopt my cheeky sense of humor! I should probably start Googling some good jokes eh? If you have any please tweet them to me! @shortpresents
This week my fellow style panelists‘ and I tossed on our Halloween costumes early to bring you some great Halloween inspiration. There’s a popular costume this year, and you’ll be surprised to know that it’s not the twerking tweddy. Head on over to Fashion Magazine for all the scoop.

What are you dressing up as for Halloween dearest blog reader? Got a clever costume? Tweet or tag me on instagram @shortpresents. I want to see.

Happy Halloween!!

Sincerely,
Short Presents
