Halifax District RCMP arrests three impaired drivers arrested in under an hour

Three drivers face impaired driving charges after being arrested by Halifax District RCMP between 12:24 a.m. and 1:17 a.m. on March 30.

At 12:24 a.m., an RCMP member conducted a traffic stop on Sackville Dr. in Lower Sackville. The 28-year-old male driver from Waterville was found to be impaired by alcohol.

At 1:05 a.m., a member of the public called 911 to report a single-vehicle collision on Hwy. 7 in Head of Chezzetcook. RCMP responded and the driver and lone occupant of the vehicle, a 27-year old woman from Bedford, was found to be impaired by alcohol. She did not suffer any injuries.

At 1:17 a.m., a member of the public called 911 to report a single-vehicle collision on Sackville Dr. in Middle Sackville. RCMP responded and the driver and lone occupant of the vehicle, a 24-year-old man from Middle Sackville, was found to be impaired by alcohol. He did not suffer any injuries.

The RCMP would like to thank the people who took the time to call 911 and report the collisions. Their actions have helped to protect their community.

Thankfully, no one was injured in these incidents, but driving impaired increases the risk of death and serious injury for all road users. We all have a responsibility to drive safely. Always drive sober and call 911 if you believe someone is driving impaired or is otherwise an immediate threat to public safety. Include as many details as possible, such as the location, direction of travel, vehicle description and license plate number.
