Halifax District RCMP charges driver for impaired driving fo­llowing collision

Halifax District RC­MP responded to a co­llision at 10:45 last evening in which a vehicle struck a ut­ility pole and the driver left the scene on foot. No one was hurt.

As a result, 36-year­-old Kevin Charles Purcell of Beaverbank was charged with Im­paired Driving, Driv­ing with a Blood Alc­ohol Content over 80 mg%, and Driving Wh­ile Disqualified. He will appear in Dart­mouth Provincial Cou­rt later today.

The RCMP would like to remind the public that any time you suspect a driver is impaired, report it by calling 911.
