Halifax District RCMP refer matter to SiRT, Halifax, N.S.

Halifax District RCMP have contacted the Nova Scotia Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) regarding an incident that occurred this weekend. Shortly before midnight on October 10th, a Musquodoboit Harbour RCMP officer received a call about an impaired driver.

Shortly before midnight on October 10th, a Musquodoboit Harbour RCMP officer received a call about an impaired driver.

Further information indicated that the driver was in possession of a firearm.

The suspect vehicle was located in the East Chezzetcook area. When the police vehicle’s emergency lights were activated, the suspect vehicle pulled over and a male driver fled on foot into nearby woods. When the officer located the suspect, it was apparent the man had sustained injuries and was transported to hospital. Following assessment It was determined that the suspect sustained a non-life threatening injury to his head.

As a result of the injury, Halifax District RCMP contacted the Nova Scotia Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) and they have taken over the investigation. Given the matter is now being investigated by SiRT, the RCMP is not able to disclose further details on the incident. Any questions about the investigation should be directed to SiRT.
