As a result of this complaint, coupled with gunshots near this location last evening, a significant police presence was observed in the community. Halifax District RCMP, along with the RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT), Halifax Regional Police ERT, and HRP K-9 Unit, attended the location. As a safety precaution, schools, residents and business were asked to remain in doors until police could confirm that there was no risk to the public.

“Our positive relationships with the community will work towards holding those responsible for discharging firearms in a random manner,” says Inspector Jason Popik, Halifax District RCMP. “Incidents such as last evening are not a reflection of a community that prides itself in helping others.”
