Halifax police seize drugs and cash after vehicle chase on Ross Street

Halifax Regional Police has charged a man in relation to a seizure of drugs in Halifax yesterday.

At approximately 11:15 a.m. officers attempted to stop a vehicle on Ross Street in relation to an investigation. The driver of the vehicle attempted to flee in the vehicle, but officers were able to prevent the vehicle from leaving the area. The driver then fled on foot and was arrested after a brief foot pursuit.

Officers arrested the driver and seized over $5,000 in cash along with quantities of cocaine and methamphetamine.

Jeremy William Coleman, 31, is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court today to face charges of:

  • Flight from peace officer – failure to stop motor vehicle or vessel while being pursued
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Resist arrest
  • Possession for purpose of trafficking (x2)
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
