Halifax Regional Police presents crime prevention series

Halifax Regional Police is launching a new three-part crime prevention series during the month of June.

The series will provide simple steps you can take to reduce your risk of being a victim of crime and improve the quality-of-life in your neighbourhood.

The three sessions, covering topics from personal safety to common community issues, will be held from 7-9 p.m. at the Canada Games Centre, Board Room 186, 26 Thomas Raddall Drive, on the following dates:

June 8 – Session 1 – Safe and Secure

– Protecting your home and vehicle
– Personal safety

June 15 – Session 2 – Scam Savvy and Cyber Safety

– The latest fraud and identity theft scams
– Internet safety and cyber bullying

June 22 – Session 3 – Addressing Neighbourhood Nuisances

– Timely traffic tips
– Common By-Law issues
– HRM Good Neighbours /Great Neighbourhoods initiative

You may attend one or all of the sessions. There is no charge but registration is recommended as space is limited. To register, call 490-5200 or send an email to HRMPublicSafety@halifax.ca indicating which session(s) you plan to attend and the number of people who will be attending.
