Halifax Regional Police Promote 11 Officers in Official Ceremony

This morning, Halifax Regional Police Chief Jean-Michel (JM) Blais promoted eleven officers at a promotional ceremony at City Hall.

“These officers have applied for, competed for, received and accepted the challenge of taking on the responsibility that comes with a higher rank. They have worked hard, dedicated themselves to HRP and our community and earned their promotion. We’re very proud of them and congratulate them on this important milestone in their policing careers,’ said Chief Jean-Michel (JM) Blais.

Halifax Regional Police congratulate the following new Staff Sergeants and Sergeants:

  • Staff Sergeant Penny Hart
  • Staff Sergeant Greg Mason 
  • Staff Sergeant Andrew Matthews
  • Staff Sergeant Kevin Smith
  • Staff Sergeant Don Stienburg
  • Sergeant Pierre Bourdages
  • Sergeant Robert Fox
  • Sergeant Matthew MacGillivray
  • Sergeant Jason McNeil
  • Sergeant Dean Simmonds
  • Sergeant Michael Strickland

The newly promoted officers will fill vacancies throughout the organization. Halifax Regional Police looks forward to their leadership in their newly-assigned roles.
