Halifax Regional Police will have a significant police presence today in multiple areas Halifax in relation to both planned events and anticipated informal student gatherings.

We are reminding those planning to attend events today to act in a safe and responsible manner and remember there are consequences if your actions negatively impact the quality-of-life in our community.

Residents are responsible for their own behaviour as well as that of their roommates and guests. Any action that unreasonably disturbs the neighbourhood can result in charges. Severe incidents may result in criminal charges being laid. Under the Liquor Control Act allowing public drunkenness requires a mandatory court appearance and can bring fines of up to $10,000.
