Herring Cove getting new fire hall

Mayor Peter Kelly reported in his ‘Chebucto Update’ to the September Chebucto News that Herring Cove will be getting a new fire station, which is going up next to the existing station, “which needs to be replaced due to structural deficiencies.”

The Chronicle Herald’s Community section today has small article in community briefs. The station will cost just over $2.5 million and be located at 57 Ketch Harbour road. It will be a four-bay station with an engine, tanker, and rescue unit, two full-time staff, and volunteers.
