High-risk sex offender charged for breach of conditions, Aylesford, N.S.

Kings District RCMP have arrested a high-risk sex offender that was released back into the community on September 27th, 2013. On Thursday November 14th, RCMP attended Shane Smith's residence to ensure he was abiding with his curfew.

Kings District RCMP have arrested a high-risk sex offender that was released back into the community on September 27th, 2013.

On Thursday November 14th, RCMP attended Shane Smith’s residence to ensure he was abiding with his curfew.

When police checked on him, Smith was not present. He also had in his possession a motor vehicle which he failed to report to police, contrary to his recognizance.

Thirty-six year old Shane Smith was arrested on Monday without incident and was charged with two counts of Breach of Recognizance. He was held in custody over night and appeared in Kentville Provincial Court yesterday. Smith was released on a recognizance.
