Historic Properties Presents the Second Annual Harvest Moon Festival

The Armour Group Limited (The Armour Group) is pleased to announce the second annual Harvest Moon Festival, featuring an impressive autumnal farm décor installation, pumpkin art competition and Safe Halloween festivities, all taking place at Historic Properties on the Halifax Waterfront.

October 12 – 27, Fall Farm Décor and Nocturne

The Historic Properties Courtyard will be completely transformed into a country farm in the fall. The Historic Properties Courtyard and Harbourside Market will be fully dressed in the splendor of fall colours and farm themes. Come and sit on the giant apple barrel cornucopia and take a selfie or enjoy a hot apple cider in front of the new giant pumpkin display. Be sure to come down and view the amazing Nocturne art installations in the Courtyard during the evening of October 13.

October 19 – 21, The Great Pumpkin Art Contest

The Great Pumpkin Patch will take over the Historic Properties Mall starting on October 19. Students from NSCAD and NSCC Culinary Arts Program will create intricately carved and decorated pumpkins and compete for a $1000 grand prize and a $500 runner-up prize provided by Develop Nova Scotia. The public chooses the winner by voting for their favorite pumpkin. The winner will be announced on Sunday, October 21 at 4:00 pm at the Historic Properties Mall.

October 27, Safe Halloween

The Courtyard and Harbourside Market will be transformed into a spooky Safe Halloween from 12:00 – 3:00 pm, where families can enjoy Halloween activities and receive candy in a safe and fun environment. Fun events include a costume photo booth, pumpkin bowling, pumpkin checkers, face painting, popcorn, cotton candy and, of course, treats for kids.

This multi-weekend event will give locals and visitors alike a chance to experience the Nova Scotian countryside in the spiritual heart of the city. While taking in the incredible decorations and participating in amusing activities, patrons can visit the unique stores located in the Historic Properties Mall and dine on delicious local fare, all while overlooking the beautiful Halifax harbour.

The hours for the stores at the Historic Properties Mall are Monday through Saturday 10 am – 6 pm and Sunday 12 pm – 5 pm.
