Hit and run suspect arrested

Colchester County District RCMP has charged a 43-year-old man in relation to a hit and run that occurred in Salmon River on August 25. 

On August 25 at approximately 11:30 p.m., Colchester District RCMP responded to a two vehicle collision on East Prince St. During the investigation, it was learned that a black Volkswagen Golf was rear ended by a dark coloured truck. The Volkswagen then lost control, collided with a power pole and caused significant injuries to the two occupants. The truck did not make any attempt to stop or render assistance to the occupants of the Volkswagen.

On September 28, RCMP arrested Adrian George Arthur Lively, from Salmon River, without incident, following a traffic stop.  Lively was transported to the Bible Hill Detachment and later released from custody.  He is charged with Fail to Stop After Accident Resulting in Bodily Harm, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Bodily Harm x 2 and Impaired Operation of a Conveyance Causing Bodily Harm x 2.

Lively is schedule to appear in Truro Provincial Court on December 16.
