Hit & Run On Lacewood & Dunbrack

At 9:40 PM – Police responded to a hit & run motor vehicle collision that occurred at the intersection of Lacewood Dr. & Dunbrack St. in Halifax. 
At 9:40 PM – Police responded to a hit & run motor vehicle collision that occurred at the intersection of Lacewood Dr. & Dunbrack St. in Halifax. 
Upon arrival, officers located a severely damaged vehicle in the intersection, there were three occupants in the car, an adult man and woman and a 4 year old girl. The second vehicle involved had fled from the scene. The occupants of the vehicle were examined by EHS, treated and released at the scene. Witnesses to the accident were able to provide a plate number for the run vehicle which was located a short time later. Officers located the driver of the vehicle that fled, a 16 year old male. The driver was taken into police custody and later released. The accused will appear in court at a later date and will face a Criminal Code charge for “Failing to remain at the scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident”, he has also been charged under the Motor Vehicle Act for “Failing to Yield to a Vehicle in an Intersection”.
