Holiday Shuttle Bus Service to 2015 World Men’s Curling Championship

Thursday, Apr. 2, 2015 (Halifax, NS) – Halifax Transit is pleased to offer special shuttles between the Alderney Ferry Terminal and the Halifax Ferry Terminal to provide a travel option for residents and visitors attending the 2015 World Men’s Curling Championship being held this weekend at the Scotiabank Centre.

The shuttle buses will operate on Good Friday, Apr. 3 and Easter Sunday, Apr.

5, in lieu of ferry service, which traditionally does not operate on those holidays.

Shuttle Schedule: Departures from the Alderney Ferry Terminal (MetroLink bus stop on Alderney Drive) and the Halifax  Water Street Terminal will mirror the holiday ferry schedule. The first bus will depart the Alderney Ferry Terminal at 7:30 a.m. travelling to Halifax, and the last shuttle will depart the Halifax Ferry Terminal at 11:45 p.m. travelling to Dartmouth, on a 30 minute frequency.

Shuttle Routing & Stops:

Dartmouth to Halifax – Buses will travel from the Alderney Ferry Terminal (MetroLink bus stop on Alderney Drive), across the Macdonald Bridge, with one stop at Barrington and Duke (south-bound), before proceeding to service the Halifax Water Street Terminal.

Halifax to Dartmouth – Buses will depart the Halifax Water Street Terminal, and travel directly to the Alderney Ferry Terminal (MetroLink bus stop on Alderney Drive). Please note: passengers returning to Dartmouth can pick up the shuttle at the south-bound stop on Barrington and Duke, and stay on the bus for the brief stop at the Halifax Water Street Terminal, before proceeding back to Dartmouth.

Regular Halifax Transit fares apply for the special shuttles.
