Home broken into while woman and grandson sleeping : Police investigate

Overnight between July 9 and 10, a woman and her grandson were sleeping while their home in Beaver Bank was broken into by thieves.

On July 10 at 7 a.m. the RCMP recovered a stolen vehicle in Cole Harbour. When they later went to the owner’s home in Beaver Bank to advise they had located the vehicle, they found the garage door of the home open. The homeowner wasn’t aware that her garage door had been open all night, or that her vehicle had been stolen. Upon further investigation the homeowner discovered that thieves had been in her home and stole several items while she and her grandson were sleeping. No one was hurt. Investigators are looking for a Honda Civic that may have been in the area that evening.
