HRCE Closing Three Hours Earlier than Usual

The Halifax Regional Centre for Education will be closing all schools for the reminder of the day three hours earlier than usual. Nova Scotia Power has advised that restoration times could be several hours and additional random power outages are expected throughout the day.

Stock Transportation is currently mobilizing school buses which means parents/guardians can expect students to be dropped off approximately three hours earlier than usual. There will delays due to power outages throughout the municipality which will impact traffic. Students who do not travel by bus will be dismissed at their regularly scheduled lunch hour. Elementary schools will be contacting parents/guardians directly.

All students will be supervised until they are dismissed.
