Nova Scotia Power outage restoration update

Transmission interruptions in Memramcook, New Brunswick, have shut down the transmission
interconnection that links our two provinces.

Power grids are designed to protect themselves in situations like this, so protective devices along Nova Scotia Power’s system have triggered, resulting in approximately 100,000 additional customers losing power in Nova Scotia.

This in addition to the earlier outages caused by transmission interruptions near Port Hawkesbury.

Across the Maritimes, utilities are in coordination working to address these transmission outages, and to ensure safe
restoration for power line crews and our customers.

Nova Scotia Power has its full team working on this, and will continue to update customers as new information becomes available. Customers can get the latest updates on estimated restoration times on our outage map at
outagemap.nspower.ca or by calling 1-877-428-6004.

Customer safety is very important. If you see a downed wire, please stay away and report it to us at 1-877-428-6004. If
you are concerned about an immediate public or personal safety risk, please call 911.
