Wednesday, March 26, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – Due to the severe storm forecasted to hit the region, the Halifax Regional Municipality has decided to close its offices today, Wednesday, March 26.
The primary interest is the safety of residents and staff, and ensuring a predictable service level for the public.
Closures include HRM’s administrative offices and customer service centres, as well as many recreation facilities and programs. Residents are asked to contact their recreation centre directly to confirm the status of programming and services at that facility.
Municipal operations – particularly snow and ice clearing – remain an ongoing priority. Metro Transit will continue running as weather permits, adjusting service and routing based on weather and road conditions, and residents will continue to have access to HRM’s 311 telephone service.
