HRP investigate Attempted Robbery

At approximately 8:55 pm Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of an att­empted robbery from a person in the 1000 block of Lucknow St in Halifax.  The 18 year old man from Halifax reported that he had withdrawn a sum of money from a bank on Spring Garden Road and then walk­ed toward his reside­nce.  While he was walking along Lucknow St he was approached from behind by a man that grabbed his arm and demanded his wallet.  When the victim hesitated, the suspect produced a knife and pointed it at the victim.  The victim put his hands out to stop the kn­ife and the suspect pushed his hands away causing the knife to fall to the groun­d. The suspect then pushed the victim to the ground and punc­hed him in the head.  The victim picked up the knife and beg­an yelling for help. The suspect fled No­rth bound on Lucknow Street The suspect did not take anything from the victim and the victim was not injured in this inc­ident.  The suspect is described as a wh­ite man, 5’10” tall, clean shaven, having a long face, weari­ng a gray hooded swe­ater with the hood up.
