HRP Investigate Store Robbery – Halifax

UPDATE: At about 1 am a 22 year old male from Halifax was taken into custody for the robbery. He will be attending court today on various weapons and robbery related charges.

Original Release: At about 10:00 pm Halifax Regional Police responded to an armed robbery at Tonys Variety , 2180 Robie Street in Halifax. A male entered the store and produced what was believed to be a firearm and demanded cash and cigarettes.  The male fled the area with an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes. The area was checked by Patrol Officers and K9 units but the suspect could not be located. The file is still under investigation, there were no injuries to the store employees during the robbery.
