HRP: Reports of man attempting to touch women at Dartmouth Mall

Police are investigating suspicious circumstances that occurred in Dartmouth this weekend.

On July 9 at approximately 2:45 p.m. police responded to a report of suspicious circumstances at Mic Mac Mall at 21 Micmac Boulevard. Mall security received reports that a man appeared to be taking photos of women without their knowledge and attempting to touch them in a sexual manner. The man fled the mall when he was approached by security officers and left the area in a vehicle.

The man is described as white, in his twenties, approximately 5’8” tall with a thin build and dark hair in a ponytail. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black shirt with text on the front, black pants and a green baseball cap. The man was driving a newer model red Hyundai Elantra hatchback with no license plate.

Investigators are asking the people who reported the matter to mall security, anyone who was approached by the man or anyone with information in relation to this incident to call police at 902-490-5020. Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers by calling toll-free 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submitting a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca or by using the P3 Tips app.
