Man assaulted with baseball bat

Kings District RCMP has charged a man after an assault occurred at a home on Hwy. 1 in Waterville.

On July 9, 2022, at approximately 7 p.m., Kings District RCMP responded to a report of an assault at a home on Hwy. 1 in Waterville. RCMP officers learned that a 32-year-old man had been struck with a baseball bat and had left the home on foot. An RCMP officer located the man, who was seriously injured, walking on Rafuse Rd. The man was transported to hospital by the RCMP officer.

The suspect was safely arrested at the home on Hwy. 1 in Waterville and was transported to the Kings West Detachment (Kingston) where he was held in cells. The bat used in this incident was also seized from the home.

Gregory Michael Bezanson, 36, of Waterville, has been charged with the following:

  • Assault with a Weapon;
  • Assault Causing Bodily Harm;
  • Failure to Comply with Conditions of an Undertaking;
  • Failure to Comply with Conditions of a Release Order

Bezanson was remanded into custody and will appear in Kentville Provincial Court today.
