HRP tended to two separate weapon related calls overnight

Robbery / Stabbing

At approximately 2:45 am members located a man near the rear entrance to the HRP HQ at 1975 Gottingen St, Halifax, suffe­ring from stab wound­s.  The 56 year old man was walking in the area of Gottingen St and Cogswell St when he was approach­ed by two men.  These men stole the vict­im’s wallet and stab­bed him in the arm and abdomen.  The man was attended to by EHS paramedics and transported to hospit­al for, what are bel­ieved to be, non-life threatening injuri­es.  The scene of the stabbing was locat­ed by members, no ar­rests have been made at this time HRP Fo­rensic Identification members and members of the Integrated Criminal Investigati­on Division are cont­inuing to investigat­e. The suspects are described as 1) white man in his late te­ens; 2) a white man in his thirties with a bald head.

Traffic Stop / Weapo­ns

At approximately 9:55 pm Halifax Regional Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the Kennedy Dr and Roleika Dr area of Dartmouth.  During that traffic stop a loaded handgun was located by pol­ice.  A 39 year old man from Dartmouth will appear in Dartmo­uth Provincial Court on Monday July 31st to face a number of firearms related of­fences.
