At 6:37 a.m. today, Kings District RCMP responded to a call indicating the remains of a deceased female had been found outside, near a home on Saxon St. in Sheffield Mills.

The RCMP responded immediately to the scene and are being assisted by members of the RCMP Forensic Identification Section and the Southwest Nova Major Crimes Unit. An autopsy is scheduled for this afternoon.

The victim’s name is not being released to the public at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
