Ian Brown – Author Reading – Sunday Sept 19th.

Clear space on your calendar for Sunday afternoon, September 19th. Award winning author, journalist, editor and radio host Ian Brown will be reading at the Keshen Goodman branch of the Halifax Public Libraries.

Ian will be reading from his best selling book, The Boy in the Moon: a father’s search for his disabled son. This title has received tremendous acclaim from around the world, including here at home, where it has already won the prestigious Charles Taylor Prize for Literary Non-Fiction and the Trillium Book Award for literary excellence.

The Boy in the Moon recounts Ian’s life changing journey with his son Walker, born with a debilitating genetic disorder. Brown’s deep desire to understand his son leads him to profound realisations about Walker, the world around them, and within himself. An experience such as their’s was obviously a difficult one. Ian Brown’s grace and strength of character is inspiring and this memoir surely contains wisdom for us all.

Don’t miss this one! Please come out to the Keshen Goodman Library and experience one of Canada’s literary treasures.

The reading starts at 2:30. All are welcome. Please call 490-6410 for more information
