Lesley Crewe and Jon Tattrie author readings

In my excitement yesterday to tell everybody about our upcoming Ian Brown author reading, I neglected to mention two other exciting author readings happening this week at Halifax Public Libraries:

Lesley Crewe will be reading at our new Woodlawn branch on Wednesday September 15th, 7:00 p.m.

Jon Tattrie will be reading at the Halifax North branch on Thursday September 16th, 7:00p.m.

Her Mother’s Daughter by Lesley Crewe.

Set in Cape Breton, Lesley Crewe’s latest book is an exploration of family, friends and the tangled skeins of love, mistakes and secrets. Lesley Crewe is the author of Hit & Mrs. and Relative Happiness.

Jon Tattrie captures the story of Eddie Carvery and his struggle for justice. When Africville was bulldozed in the 1960s under the guise of urban renewal, Eddie Carvery pitched a tent in protest. Forty years, three families, seven heart attacks and numerous attempts on his life later, he remains living on the land where he was born. Eddie Carvery will also appear with Jon Tattrie.
