A 27-year-old man from Roachville has been charged with impaired driving related offences after he drove to the detachment hoping to release a friend who was in police custody.
Just before 5 p.m. on March 13, RCMP located the intoxicated man at the Antigonish District RCMP detachment. The investigation determined the heavily intoxicated man was driving his 2008 Pontiac Wave when he arrived at the detachment. As well, that he was on conditions not to consume alcohol.
As a result, Michael Taylor Pinkham has been charged with the following offences:
- Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle
- Operate a Motor Vehicle Over the Legal Limit
- Failure to Comply with Undertaking x 2
- Public Intoxication
Pinkham was remanded in to custody. He appeared in Antigonish Provincial Court on March 14 where he was released. He is scheduled to appear in Antigonish Provincial Court on April 4 at 9:30 a.m.
