Indecent act at West End playground, man assaulted on Barrington

Police are looking for four males after an assault on Barrington Street.

Indecent Exhibition Charge

A 19 yr old Halifax male was arrested this evening for an Indecent Act call that occurred on July 20,2010.  The female victim, reports she was at 6700 Edward Arab Ave (Westmount School) on July 20,2010 at 5:45 pm when the accused parked his vehicle along side the playground and requested she come over to the vehicle.  The victim was at the playground with small children.  Once the victim was near the accused vehicle she observed him to be masturbating.  The children did not witness the act.  The victim noted the accused license plate, walked away and called police.  The accused was released on a Promise to Appear and an Undertaking with a future court date .

Assault with a Weapon Incident

On July 22,2010 at 1:15 AM a 29 yr old Halifax man reports he was walking home from work in the area of Barrington St and North Marginal Rd when he was assaulted by 4 unknown males.  The suspects snuck up on him from behind and stuck him in the head with a glass bottle.  The victim was knocked to the ground and received a minor cut to his face.  He attended the hospital for treatment where he was latter released.  The suspects did not say anything to the victim or take any property.  The investigation in ongoing at this time.

Suspects were described as  2 white males and 2 black males.  Approximate heights ranging from 5'8 to
6'3.  One male wearing a white hoodie and dark pants.  Another male was wearing a light t-shirt with dark pants.  The victim was unable to provide any further details.
