Inmate missing from Burnside jail

Update: He has been found.

Police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating a man who was reported to be missing from a correctional facility yesterday.

On August 22 at approximately 12:30 p.m. inmate Ryan Taylor Wilband, 43, escaped from the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility at 90 Gloria McCluskey Avenue in Dartmouth.

Wilband is described as a white man, 5’6”, 140 lbs and bald. Wilband has a tattoo of a demon on his right shoulder and on his stomach. He was last seen leaving the area on foot and was wearing glasses, a blue t-shirt and blue jeans.

Wilband was in custody at the facility on several charges, including robbery, theft, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public and breaches of probation.

Police are currently searching for Wilband. If anyone has any information regarding Wilband or they observe anyone fitting his description, please do not approach him and call 911 immediately.
