Kings District RCMP are investigating a fatal house fire that destroyed a residence earlier this morning.

At approximately 6 a.m., Kings District RCMP, assisted by Wolfville Fire Service and EHS responded to a house fire on Welch Road.

Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered a mobile home engulfed in flames. The structure was totally destroyed. RCMP confirm that human remains were located inside the home. The identity of the deceased has not been confirmed. An update will follow when available.

The Provincial Fire Marshall’s Office, RCMP Forensics Identification Services and the Medical Examiner’s office have been called in. The investigation is continuing.
