Kings District RCMP lay human trafficking and prostitution charges, Greenwich, N.S.

Kings District RCMP have laid human trafficking and prostitution-related charges against a Lower Sackville Man following a three month investigation.

After receiving information from the community in early July about potential prostitution activity in the area, Kings District General Investigation Section, with assistance from the Valley Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit and Kings District RCMP, began an investigation.

During the investigation, evidence was found to support human trafficking and prostitution-related offences involving a 46 year-old male suspect and a 26-year-old female victim.

As a result, 46-year-old Duane Alan Rhyno has been charged with the following:

  • One count of Human Trafficking
  • One count of Financial Gain from Human Trafficking
  • One count of Aiding and Abetting Prostitution
  • One count of Living Off the Avails of Prostitution
  • One count of Sexual Assault

Rhyno is scheduled to appear at Kentville Provincial Court later today. The Kings District Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault coordinator will continue to provide assistance and support to the victim.
