The RCMP have laid charges against two individuals in the death of a newborn baby boy in Liverpool, Nova Scotia.

Twenty-four-year-old Amanda Lynne Oickle of Liverpool is charged with failing to obtain assistance in childbirth and concealing the body of a child.

Thirty-one-year-old Andrew Gary Cunningham also of Liverpool is charged with one count of concealing the body of a child.

Both were scheduled to appear in Bridgewater court today at 9:30 a.m.

On Monday, October 12, Ms. Oickle brought a deceased baby boy to Queen’s General Hospital in Liverpool. Oickle had given birth at her residence on Wednesday, October 7.

An autopsy has been performed, however, no formal cause of death has been identified.
