The RCMP’s Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit has executed a search warrant at former Bishop Raymond Lahey’s residence in Sydney.
The search was conducted this morning, two days after the Mounties executed search warrants at Lahey’s residence and office in Antigonish.
The searches were conducted as a result of information obtained from the Ottawa Police Service in September and a subsequent follow up investigation in Nova Scotia.
On September 25, Ottawa’s ICE Unit charged 69-year-old Lahey, who is from Antigonish, with possession of child pornography and importation of child pornography.
The investigation in Nova Scotia is ongoing.
